week of december 6-8 question 3

What I liked about this class is the fact that I never had an online class before. It was very different than any other class I have taken in my college education. Even though it is online, when we do are online blogs we get to comment on our classmate’s blog entries. I never had a class where we turn homework we get to comment on our classmates work. I like the fact that this class makes the homework more relevant to our lives by having us do journals. What the journals does it helps us analyze a social interaction that we had with someone who experiences the world differently than we do. Or it could help us analyze a conflict that we had with a loved one. Because if the journals it gets us as a class to see what we did right or wrong in a social situation. I don’t feel that this class needs any improvements. I feel that even though it’s a online class I felt that I could communicate with the instructor if I wanted to.

  1. Man i like how you only had positive things to say. The journal assignments were a very good use of application to the way you look at the world. I would have never thought it would have been relevant to analyze non verbal behaivor in a public setting or any of those assignments for that matter. i like things that sort of take you out of your own comfort zone are a very good learning experience because it is a new expereince. That s why I think those journal assignments were useful.

  2. jrmskater,

I have to agree with you concerning the experience of commenting and grading each other's work. It was both fun and exhilarating seeing my peer's work through the eyes of a teacher. Plus, with the journals I really got to see different perspective on issues I felt concerned with as well.

For instance, the journal #5 entry about the media was one where I got to see the perspective from a girl in our class who is majoring in journalism. I thought that was pretty cool. Also, seeing how different people experienced conflict in journal #4 was definitely something you do not see everyday in a class! That was really interesting. Good post!
